Jessica Tanto

MulaZine, Indonesia Researcher and Artist

What do you do?
My research covers things like art, wellbeing, current social issues, and sometimes a mix of all. Outside MulaZine I make art and facilitate art workshops. I’d often see my artworks as playtime or playhouse but for adults.
Why do you do what you do and how do you convince people that you love what you do?
Not sure, even if I try to stay away from it I end up once again, making art. Maybe it’s the way my mind has been wired to think and the blurry definition of what can be considered art. I convince people that I love what I do by continuously making art projects for the public.
What’s your birth chart and which one do you resonate most with?
Virgo. I’m not a big nerd for birth charts so I wouldn’t know.
What’s your best skill, and one skill that you wish you had?
Sniffing and identifying scents. Probably flying.
What’s a quintessential signature you that many can be familiar with?
My poor sense of fashion.
How did you get to where you are now and what were some of the fall backs that you had to go through?
Having an amazing mutual support system open to growth and change. Fallbacks would be when I tried to create art based on what I liked to see rather than what I wanted to create.
What’s your favorite photo in your gallery and why?

A self portrait.

What’s your pet peeve?
Smelly places.
Describe to us what your ideal collaboration and client is. Also, who would you want to work with?
Anyone willing to explore and experiment! Happy with working with anyone with passion and commitment to the collaboration.
How should one approach you to working together?
